If your advertisement appears in the following areas of HKin.com such as Search Result Page, Supplier Directory and e-Catalog and displays with detail information (company name, contact and product data etc..), you are entitled to apply for the EMF. In other terms, We cannot list all types of advertisement here, please feel free to contact marketing@hkinventory.com for types of advertisement are eligible for EMF.

FAQ about applying Export Marketing Fund


1. Can HKin.com online advertisements and <Trade Network> magazine be funded by the EMF?


Yes, from July 30, 2009, HKin.com and Trade Network magazine have been approved by Hong Kong SME funding schemes as eligible website and trade publication for the EMF.


2. How to apply the EMF if you placed advertisement on HKin.com or Trade Network Magazine?

Advertisers must be registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Chapter 310) and fulfill Government's definition of the SMEs, as follows, can apply for grant under the EMF
  • any manufacturing business which employs fewer than 100 persons in Hong Kong;
  • any non-manufacturing business which employs fewer than 50 persons in Hong Kong.
    Advertisers must have substantive business operations in Hong Kong. For details, please refer to the SMEs application guide.


    3. Do advertisers from other regions allow to apply for the EMF?

    Only local SMEs advertisers registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Chapter 310) are eligible. In addition, the advertiser must have substantive business operation as registered in Hong Kong; otherwise its application may be rejected. If the advertiser holding a shell business registration or having its main business operation outside Hong Kong will not be regarded as having substantive local business operation and hence, the relevant application may be rejected.


    4. What is the amount of grant that an advertiser can obtain from the EMF?

    The maximum cumulative amount of grant that an SME may obtain from the EMF is $150,000. For each successful application, the maximum amount of grant is 50% of the total approved expenditures incurred by the applicant or $50,000, whichever is the less.


    5. How to apply for grant under the EMF for HKin.com online advertisement and <Trade Network> magazine?

    The advertiser should submit the application for grant within 60 calendar days after the issue date of <Trade Network> magazine or the commencement date when the advertisement is put on the HKin.com. Please refer to the application guide for details of the application procedures and related documentary requirements.
  • For applicants who have advertised in <Trade Network> magazine should attach a photocopy of the advertisement. The hard copy of each <Trade Network> magazine will be submitted to EMF by HKin.com for reference. Advertisers do not need to submit the hard copy again.
  • For applicants who have advertised online advertisement with HKin.com should submit a printed out copy showing the advertisement with certified by HKin.com. Please request the copy from you Account Executive.


    6. When will an applicant be notified of the application result?

    Under normal circumstances, Trade and Industry Department (TID) will complete the processing of the application within 30 clear working days from the date of the receipt of the duly completed application accompanied by all necessary documentation. TID will arrange to send the result and the original receipts through ordinary post to the latest available address at the own risk of the applicant. Successful applicants will at the same time receive grants offered by cheques payable to them.


    7. Can advertisers apply EMF for advertisements published on different issues of <Trade Network> magazine in one application form?

    No. One application form can only be used to apply for one advertisement published in <Trade Network> magazine. For example, if an advertisement is published on Spring and Fall issues of <Trade Network> magazine, applicant should submit an application for grant within 60 calendar days after the publication date of each issue, together with the supporting documents to SME Export Marketing Fund Unit.
